This Refund & Cancellation Policy ("Policy") governs the terms under which refunds, cancellations, and chargebacks are handled on AcademiaGuru (A Unit of Lakshay Edusolutions Pvt. Ltd.) ("we", "our", "us"), an education search and information portal that helps students and parents discover schools, colleges, universities, institutes, coaching centers, and related educational services, and enables access to value‑added services such as career counselling, premium listings, lead generation, advertising, and subscription-based tools.

By accessing or using AcademiaGuru's website, mobile application, or services (collectively, the "Platform"), you agree to be bound by this Policy in addition to our Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

1. Nature of Services

AcademiaGuru primarily provides:

  • Educational institution search and discovery services
  • Information aggregation and comparison tools
  • Career counselling and advisory services
  • Premium listings, featured placements, advertisements, and lead generation for institutions
  • Subscription-based or one-time paid digital services

Most services are digital, time-bound, and/or immediately accessible, and therefore subject to limited or no refund eligibility once activated.

Counsellor's Refund & Cancellation Policy

Scope of Policy

This Refund & Cancellation Policy governs counselling services offered by independent counsellors listed on the AcademiaGuru platform. AcademiaGuru acts only as a discovery and facilitation platform and is not a party to the counselling transaction.

Nature of Payment

  • All counselling fees are paid directly by the user to the counsellor.
  • AcademiaGuru does not collect, hold, process, or manage any counselling payments.
  • Any refund, cancellation, or rescheduling request is strictly a matter between the user and the counsellor.

Cancellation by User

Users may request cancellation or rescheduling directly with the counsellor as per the counsellor's individual policy.

Cancellation timelines, eligibility for refunds, and rescheduling terms vary from counsellor to counsellor.

Refund Eligibility

Refunds, if any, are subject to the individual counsellor's refund policy. Generally:

  • No refund shall be applicable once a counselling session has been attended, partially or fully.
  • Refunds may be considered only if cancellation is made within the timeframe specified by the counsellor prior to the scheduled session.

Cancellation by Counsellor

If a counsellor cancels a confirmed session, the counsellor is responsible for:

  • Providing a full refund, or
  • Offering an alternative session date, as mutually agreed with the user.

No-Show Policy

If the user fails to attend the scheduled session without prior notice, it shall be treated as a no-show, and no refund shall be applicable, unless the counsellor decides otherwise.

Platform Limitation of Liability

AcademiaGuru shall not be liable for:

  • Any refund disputes
  • Payment failures
  • Quality or outcome of counselling sessions

All disputes must be resolved directly between the user and the counsellor.

Dispute Resolution

In case of disputes, users are encouraged to communicate directly with the counsellor.

AcademiaGuru may assist only as a facilitator, without any financial or legal obligation.

Policy Acceptance

By booking a counselling session through AcademiaGuru, users acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to this Refund & Cancellation Policy.

2. Cancellation Policy

2.1 User-Initiated Cancellation

Users may request cancellation of a paid service or subscription by submitting a written request to our support team at academiaguruindia@gmail.com.

Cancellation requests must clearly mention:

  • Registered email ID / account details
  • Service purchased
  • Date of transaction
  • Reason for cancellation

2.2 Timeframe for Cancellation Requests

Before service activation: Cancellation requests received before activation or delivery of a paid service may be considered for a refund, subject to verification.

After service activation: Once a service is activated, accessed, listed, or delivered (partially or fully), cancellation will not be permitted.

2.3 Subscription Cancellation

Subscription services can be cancelled at any time; however:

  • Cancellation will stop future billing only.
  • No refunds will be issued for the current or past billing cycle.
3. Refund Policy

3.1 General Refund Rule

As a general rule, all payments made on AcademiaGuru are non-refundable, unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing at the time of purchase.

3.2 Eligible Refund Scenarios

Refunds may be considered only in the following exceptional cases:

  • Duplicate payment made by the user for the same service
  • Payment deducted but service not activated due to a verified technical error attributable to AcademiaGuru
  • Service not delivered at all despite successful payment and confirmed order

3.3 Non-Refundable Services

Refunds will not be provided for:

  • Premium listings, (School, college, Institutes, University, Coaching Centre, Counsellor, Expert or any others), featured placements, or advertisements once live
  • Lead generation services once leads are shared or access is granted
  • Career counselling sessions already conducted or scheduled and missed by the user
  • Subscription fees (monthly/quarterly/annual) once the billing cycle has started
  • Any service partially used, accessed, or consumed
  • Change of mind after purchase
  • Dissatisfaction due to expectations not aligned with publicly stated service scope
4. Refund Request Process

To request a refund (where eligible), users must:

  • Email academiaguruindia@gmail.com within 2 working days of the transaction date
  • Provide transaction ID, payment proof, and a clear explanation of the issue
  • Allow AcademiaGuru reasonable time to investigate the request
  • Incomplete or late requests may be rejected.
5. Refund Processing Timeline
  • Approved refunds will be processed within 7–14 working days from the date of approval
  • Refunds will be credited back to the original mode of payment only
  • AcademiaGuru will not be responsible for delays caused by banks, payment gateways, or third-party financial institutions
6. Chargebacks & Disputes

Users are encouraged to contact AcademiaGuru support before initiating any chargeback or payment dispute.

Unauthorized or unjustified chargebacks may result in:

  • Immediate suspension or termination of the user account
  • Blacklisting from future services
  • Legal action, if applicable
7. Institutional Clients & B2B Services

For schools, colleges, universities, coaching centers, and other institutional partners:

  • Refund and cancellation terms may be governed by separate written agreements, proposals, or insertion orders
  • In case of conflict, the terms of the signed agreement shall prevail over this Policy
8. Changes to This Policy

AcademiaGuru reserves the right to modify, amend, or update this Refund & Cancellation Policy at any time without prior notice. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting on the Platform.

Users are advised to review this Policy periodically.
